His professional career sprouted during his late teens as he focused on then popular pastel works and gallery exhibitions of famous people and animal portraits. During this time he developed his special quality of expressing mood and moments through stimulating techniques with other mediums. His self-taught style blossomed after moving to Hawaii in the early 1980s.
Tom has always leaned toward the romantic quality of life and his works reflect such appreciation whether the subject is a panoramic mountain scene or an action packed glimpse of Hawaii's history. This talented artist takes great pride in creating the scene one has imagined or captured the memories of a special place in time with his creative use of light, color, shadowing and perspective.
